Alrighty I’ve finally finished season 5

I hate how obvious it is they’re trying to tone the show down completely to even lower audience demographic. The first 3 seasons were for kids but there was actual peril and darker concepts and stuff that were much more interesting damn you Nickelodeon and your desperate attempt to keep the most squeaky clean image ever not only does it not work it’s costing stories and plot

I REFUSE to believe Stella would be a bad fashion designer with how much she loves fashion (I know it was a joke in s1 too but I still refuse). Plus, avant-garde is a thing and she would serve

That boat that was sent from Andros was def made exclusively for the winx there is NO WAY that style exists anywhere else on that planet for land related peoples with all of its hard lines and industrial style architecture with its limited color palettes

The nautical themed outfits are cute but Bloom’s looks SO overdone to me and Stella,, my sweet babygorl,, wtf did you do to your own fit?? Aisha’s poodle puff braid ftw also

Harmonix was totally useless BUT I still like the flower petal aesthetic vibe (even tho only Flora is a nature floral lady) and some of the color combos. Bloom in pink is still a no tho, which is something I mainly hate because of how obvious it is they started integrating it into her more to make her more marketable for toy lines and shit

Where did the gems that were already on the starfish thing for sirenix come from?

The amount of times the girls all gasp or ooo or ahh and go like “wow!” “so cool!” “amazing!”,, I will kill I feel like I’m watching a 1990s or early 2000s anime dub I hate it I hate it I hate it

The relationship drama was just as stupid and hamfisted as I thought it was from an outside skim of the season based off of secondhand knowledge ie posts and gifs. Also, Krystal did nothing wrong, she’s just autistic and Helia would NOT introduce Flora as anything other than the love of his life.

Timmy and Tecna also have one of the healthiest relationships why tf is everyone trying to give them advice like this they’ve all been dating for YEARS why are all of y’all so insecure like this? The writers really said fuck everyone’s character development even more than they already had

Also that is NOT Luna and Radius. That “he wouldn’t say that!” meme is ME SOOOO MUCH during this season at so many people but I actually started YELLING about Luna being some sort of soft gorl while Radius is this prideful ignoramus

Sirenix giving Aisha that blonde hair while knowing about the insane white washing to come in the future is something I Think About

The sirenix song does bop also, although I’m so sorry to say I don’t think I’m as big of a fan of it as a lot of people are but maybe that’ll change as I hear it more please forgive me

Also, Musa’s little coffee grinder move during her sirenix transformation? So cute, wish we actually got to see it more than like 2 times. Damn you shortened sirenix transformarion sequence

Im convinced Tecna doesn’t actually know karate, she just thinks it looks cool so she mimics it. Same with Flora and her ballet/lyrical looking poses she does during her sirenix transformation sequence. She doesn’t actually know those styles of dance, she just thinks they looks neat and tries to copy it.

The combat is soooo slow compared to previous seasons I hate it

The rigging throughout this season was a MESS

They should go after the handful of companies that are actually responsible for the majority of pollution and destroy them and their ceos a la Flora season 1 core

Where did they put all of that trash they got out of the ocean? They went to the pacific trash island and cleaned it up. Where did it go? I’m so curious

Their little dance workout outfits? Hatred. I miss the old ones so much. All of these outfits from this season,, it’s so clear cishet people were the main ones designing the clothes I hate it so much it’s not the same kind of tacky and camp that the first 3 seasons had. The only good things I can say about the dance outfits is that Flora’s purple leg warmers were cute, Aisha’s color palette was nice, and Bloom’s was very Bloom core

I couldn’t have gotten through it without yelling at each other and making shitty jokes.

I wanted to draw Edgar. And I had my beautiful muse willing to pose for me (Dw i'n caru fy merch!)

So I decided to spread my Edgar is a sazimas propaganda. So i drew a spider... then I was like... this is just a (gorgeous) spider... So then I thought about Penny giving Edgar bracelets and drew the bows. and then with my last ounces of energy I made something that resembles a drawing of the Reschers... how does this Edgar fit into Friday's mouth? Don't worry about it! The more impossible it is, the more body horror, surely.

I was going to give Penny strawberries on her skirt (very winx club), but they look more like radishes and I've decided now that Penny just likes radishes.

You may also be wondering why my reference is still there. Because I love her. That's why. There is no copy of this without her.

In terms of fashion Stormy outfits seemed like something fitting for a rave party if that makes sense. Based off names and powers one would think she’d wear darker and dull colored clothes like grey but instead most of her clothes come in shades of reds, purples, and dark pinks.

Like you said she’s often the one dressed more feminine compared to the others. Almost a rarity for her to wear pants. Stormy does whatever she wants she has no commitment to the theme her hairstyle is enough. (I don’t blame her that hair take a lot of effort let her wear a cute crop top and miniskirt)

Icy always goes for light blue outfits fitting for someone who’s powers revolve around ice. My girl is completely committed to her theme I love that.

Darcy choice of clothing is the least standoutish. She actually has a wide range of clothing tho she mostly prefers anything purple on average. She’s often the one who prefers pants. I often like to say she could be a member of the Spice Girls

yeah that's the exact breakdown of it imo

rave party is actually a pretty good comparison, especially with the wraps and ribbons. but yeah, her powers might be storms but that doesn't mean she's making it her whole personality, the hair really IS enough. anon i'm laughing at the mental image of her just being done with her contribution to the team aesthetic after having to bother with her hair every day and deciding she has a free pass to do whatever she wants to with the rest of the style

which i mean yeah good for her. i definitely think it's much funnier that the Trix have real contradictions in their designs. like, if Stormy actually modeled her whole style after her power that would tell us absolutely nothing about her. but given that she's so dedicated to a personal style that completely clashes with her powers it actually does say a lot

either she Really doesn't like witch fashion and is dying on her summer vibe hill AND/OR she's just so stubborn she won't change her personal style for anything on principle. which are both equally strong characterization beats as well as kind of funny

and Icy really is committed isn't she. the thing is i don't think anyone would even call Icy out for rocking light blue to the witch convention because it just looks that good on her. it's the hair, would be kind of criminal if she didn't lean into it

actually curious as well that there's not more characters in universe that have hair That striking. because even with fantasy hair colours clearly being a thing, she's still the only one rocking hair that white. she'd really stand out in any crowd. insane if she Wouldn't lean into it, really, that's her Brand

and totally Darcy is the one who blends with crowds the best. which i actually really like since it clearly reflects her personality as well. the same way Stormy is stubborn and unwilling to compromise her style for whatever situation she's in, and Icy clearly embraces standing out in any crowd and even adds to it intentionally, Darcy is the best at adapting and blending into the background when she wants to

especially in the early seasons when she even uses that approach to fighting as well, disappearing and reappearing when and where she isn't expected. or just using her actual manipulation skills and acting

i just really like that they clearly put thought into their styles given how well they mirror their actual characterization. also love that they all have entirely different approaches to fashion, it makes them look sm more interesting as a group

think it's absolutely ludicrous there is virtually no way (that I know of atleast) to watch Winx Club in the original Italian dub with subtitles. the popular myth that Cinelume doesn't change anything has clearly been debunked a number of times and honestly I just don't love a good amount of the voices and the overall direction sometimes is 2 much. it'd just be neat to watch one of my fave shows in its original form without having to jump blind into learning a whole new language is all!!!!

1stly I have to say, that watching this gives me physical pain. 😂 s4 was super duper good compared to this. But let's start with ep 2:

➡ honestly, it looks and feels so wrong to see the actual fairy of music with the angelic voice being reduced to a random band member

➡ Layla however fits the part of a drummer imo

I love how these guardian selkies are super useless but I have to admit, they're kinda cute. Better than the ugly pets anyway. And they have a task to fulfill and therefore and excuse to be in the show

also why is Tritannus' trident just lying there? shouldn't someone like..store it somewhere instead of letting it lie there in the dungeons on the floor?

also idk what happened to the Trix but the imprisonment must have been so traumatic to them that Icy suffers from a strong out-of-character sickness

➡ everyone knows this, but I'll say it again and again: Icy was totally disgusted by Valtor turning into a monster at the end of s3 and now Tritannus does it and now she's like cool💗

And 2ndly do you really wonder about that when you too call Tritannus your psycho cousin? I'm afraid I'll found the Tritannus-Defense-Squad simply because everyone treats him like shit and this even though I don't really know what to think about him lol but this is so unfair

The oil floods the ocean ➡ Tecna: COME ON I HAVE TO FILM THIS! (this might be poorly translated in the German dub since she says in the nickelodeon version, that they had to document it but I find it kinda funny imagining Tecna to be someone who films straight away tragic events. another thing that makes me wonder if the script writers have actually ever thought about anything is why the oil can't harm the trix but tritannus? Any ideas? no? ok

Hiatus

So… this is a post I’ve been debating with myself these past 2/3 weeks on whether to make or not.

Some of yall may have noticed that I’ve been taking quite a few breaks from s4 and I have unfortunately just finally allowed myself to acknowledge that I’ve hit a bit of a writing block when it comes to my Winx Club rewrite.

I’ve had a few frustrations during s4 (even though I’ve managed to keep my writing up to my own personal standards, it’s been very difficult) and- despite being halfway through the season, unlike past seasons I still have no idea what I’m going to do with s5 and it’s just been getting to me.

And now I am forced to accept that if I keep forcing myself to churn out chapters and stressing out over keeping you all waiting until I’m satisfied with every chapter, the only thing I’ll do is kill my creativity and my love for this rewrite.

I’ve been working on this rewrite for nearly 3 years and it kinda low-key shames me to say that I am officially placing it on hiatus.

To me ‘taking a break’ and ‘hiatus’ are 2 completely different things, I know I’ve taken breaks before but I always had some vague idea of when I’d return but this time… I just don’t know.

I have been working on my Original Novel and works for other fandoms that have just been filling me with inspiration in a way I haven't been able to feel with Winx Club for a bit now.

I hope I have built up enough trust over these past 3 years for you all to believe me when I say that I will be back. I am not the type to leave things unfinished, especially a story that means so much to me and that I am so very proud of and that has helped me grow so much as a writer and has helped me get through some difficult times and express certain emotions and grief in a way I never could’ve if I hadn’t dived into this 3 long years ago.

I was really hoping to post chapters for Xmas and New Years as I have past years but I just can’t- HOWEVER, on January 28th, the third anniversary of Veiled Wings and Shattered Panoramas, I will post… something. I don’t know if it will be a chapter or not but I will do something for the anniversary.

If you wanna know what I’ll be up to; I will be working on my Original Novel since I have finally landed on exactly what idea I want to work on. I will also be working on 2 projects, one for ATLA (Zutara post-canon self-indulgent thingy) and another one that I honestly don’t know if I’ll go through with since it’d be a pretty big project and I’m still thinking about how I’d go about it, but that I am very inspired and excited about.

So yeah, thank you all for your never ending support and- again, I WILL BE BACK, this is not an abandonment of the rewrite, it’s just me having to prioritize my mental health and protect both my love for writing and my love for the rewrite. I’ll be going through my inbox this next week and answer a bunch of stuff that I just haven’t really looked through in a while.

Thank you so much for understanding and for your support. I hope you will wait for the return of the rewrite and that maybe you will give my other projects a chance when I post them. I will be posting a lot of my inner thoughts on the rewrite and my other projects chapters + thoughts on my Ko-fi if you wanna check that out.

so there was a leaked script of some fight between winx and trix. no details, but, winx saying their spells out loud. TRIX DON'T DO THAT. THEY CAST SPELLS WITHOUT WORDS. LIKE, THERE'S DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTION, BUT NO WORDS FROM THEM.

Like, in canon series (i mean 3 first seasons and the films) i feel like Icy said the least spells out of all trix and winx. She casts 80% of her magic without saying anything and I LOVE THIS because SHE'S SO COOL THAT SHE DOESN'T NEED TO SAY SPELLS OUT LOUD. That's like in harry potter, if you can cast spells without saying anything, that means that you are really good at magic, and i want to think that the same applies to winx club, because that makes sense!!!!

I wanna make a video where i count every spell casted by winx&trix verbally and non-verbally (my maximum tho only said 3 seasons... i don't know if i'll ever be able to re-watch that half of s5 ive seen and watch the rest of it and further seasons... or at least i need moral support for it)

what i'm trying to say...
